Music lovers can indulge in a choice of more than 40 concerts and events at the Orlando Festival (11-21 August 2022). The special atmosphere, the beautiful locations and the beautiful surroundings of South Limburg make a visit to the Orlando Festival a wonderful experience. Visit the Orlando Festival for one day or book up to a ten day stay at the festival.

Orlando visit with overnight stay

All participants reside, on the basis of full board and lodging, in one of the two Fletcher Hotels in Kerkrade. Everybody meets each other also during mealtimes and not only during lessons, rehearsals or concerts. This contributes greatly to the relaxing and unique Orlando atmosphere.

After the concert all participants, visitors and musicians can get together for a drink in the theater bar, where one can reminisce over the concert and have interesting conversations.

You can visit all activities of the festival, not just the two daily concerts but also the open lessons and workshops by the European Summer Course for Chamber Music in the so called cultural HuB of Kerkrade, Theater Kerkrade and the music school of Stichting SMK. Every afternoon there is a concert at 16.30 and in the evenings there are concerts both at Theater Kerkrade.

Enjoying concerts and lessons, listening to beautiful chamber music, having interesting conversations with like-minded people: young and old meet at the Orlando Festival!

The festival starts on Thursday August 11 in the afternoon. Open lessons to our OESC ensembles can be visited everyday until August the 21nd. On the last festival day there will be no more festival activities. See below for the daily schedule. On the last day of the festival, there are usually no more festival activities.

The Orlando Festival is moving to the center of Kerkrade! From this year on, an overnight stay one of the two beautiful Fletcher Hotels in Kerkrade will be included in the packagedeals.

Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Erenstein Castle

Hotel Erenstein Castle consists of a total of 45 rooms. All rooms in Hotel Erenstein are situated in the Carré farm, 150 meter from the castle and are spreaded over several floors (there is no elevator!). Breakfast is served in the breakfast room on the ground floor. With good weather, the terrace will also be open.

Hotel Erenstein Castle is located about a 10-minute walk away from the HuB.Kerkrade. Five- or ten-day bookings are given priority over a room in Erenstein, “first come, first serve”.

Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Parkstad-South Limburg

Hotel Parkstad has a total of 80 moderns rooms, tastefully decorated and fully equipped. All rooms are located on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors of the hotel. An elevator is available! Breakfast is served in the Brasserie on the 1st floor.

Hotel Parkstad is located a little further away from the city center, near the Parkstad Limburg Foodballstadium. It is about 10 minutes by car to the HuB.Kerkrade. The Orlando Festival will provide a free shuttle service for participants and visitors who do not have own transportations. It is also possible to rent an E-bike at the hotel. The rooms of both hotels are comparable to the comfort rooms of Rolduc. All rooms have a private bathroom and toilet.

Lunch and dinner

The shared lunch will be served every day in the Theater bar in the HuB.Kerkrade. Dinner for all participants and visitors will be served in Erenstein Castle.

Daily schedule

The festival starts on Thursday August 11 in the afternoon. Lessons start this first festival day at 13.00. Open lessons to our OESC ensembles can be visited everyday until August the 21nd. On the last festival day there will be no more festival activities.
