The Larisa Piano Trio are an award-winning chamber group formed in 2016 at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in Manchester. Holders of the prestigious Christopher Rowland Chamber Music Ensemble of the Year Award as well as the RNCM Weil Prize, they have had many competitive successes.
The trio were recently invited to play in Wigmore Hall in a masterclass with György Pauk. They were also invited to perform in the 2019 Joseph Haydn: Innovation and Inspiration Chamber Music Festival and upcoming Leeds International Festival.
The trio are passionate about new music, having worked with Michael Finnissy on a new Piano Trio dedicated to the ensemble as well as performing regularly for the Norfolk Composers Group.
They are very grateful to have received tutelage from Levon Chilingirian, Donald Grant, Johannes Meissl and Petr Prause amongst others.
As well as giving classical concerts nationwide, contemporary collaboration across the arts is an integral part of the trio’s ethos. Excessive Human Collective, a contemporary dance group, are long term partners of the trio. The trio are supported by the RNCM Entrepreneurship Award which has funded this collaboration.
